Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join our internal financial planning team. The Paraplanner will be a key asset in supporting our financial advisors by conducting thorough financial analysis, preparing and executing comprehensive financial plans, ensuring regulatory compliance, and taking on a leadership role within the paraplanning team. Please note that this is not a BEE role, so we invite all EE statuses to apply, as we are looking for the best candidate regardless of race, gender or religion.Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Analysis and Research
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis for clients, including:
- Risk assessments,
- Cash flow analysis (including FX transactions),
- Tax Calculations and
- Investment performance.
- Research and evaluate various financial products, investment strategies, and taxation issues.
- Collaborate with advisors to develop customized financial plans for clients.
2. Financial Planning
- Prepare comprehensive financial plans that address clients' goals, retirement planning, estate planning, and investment strategies.
- Draft proposals and quote packs based on client needs and advisor notes.
- Review and refine existing financial plans, ensuring they align with clients' changing circumstances and objectives.
3. Documentation and Legal Compliance
- Ensure all documentation and client files are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and make necessary updates to processes and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Understand and execute on all CDD requirements.
4. Communication
- Provide technical support to advisors and clients
- Assist financial advisors in presenting financial plans to clients and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Liaise with admin teams and providers on applications and submissions.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, providing excellent customer service and maintaining client relationships.
5. Continuous Learning
- Stay updated on industry trends, financial planning strategies, and regulatory changes.
- Attend professional development and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Financial Planning e.g. BCom with an appropriate post-grad qualification (minimum NQF level 6); CFP and RE5 beneficial.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a paraplanning or financial services role.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in financial planning software e.g. Xtools and CRM systems, ideally within financial services.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, investment products, and tax regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite – Especially MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to high compliance and professional standards.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:
- 10+ years of advisory or sales experience in investment solutions, life insurance and risk management.
- FSCA-registered Representative, with ambition and aptitude to become a Key Individual (RE5, RE1 and relevant regulatory qualifications).
- A minimum of a BCom with appropriate post-graduate qualification as a CFP.
- Knowledge of Category II products and licences would be highly beneficial (RE3 regulatory qualification).
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding targets and delivering client-centric advice.
- Solid understanding of investment products and long-term insurance as well as South African regulatory environment, and compliance processes.
- Advanced proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid up to date knowledge of the fiduciary environment in South Africa and the ability to support such activities in all respects.
